RIFLE SHOOTING.

TIMA.SU HAYAL ARTILLERY V. GERALDINE RIFLES. This match was fired at th© Geraldin« range on Thursdiay afternoon laatj the visitors being in command of Chief Petty-Officer Bradley and the home team in command of Lieut. GK Ward; : The conditions of the match were ten men a side; 200, 300, and SOO yards; five shots at each range; ■Wimbledon targets and scoring. The weather was very favorable for shooting, there being but a very light breeze astir. The result was a decided win for the home team. This is the first win. scored by the Eiflas since the Geraldine corps has been in existence, and the men were consequently very jubilant. Rifle shooting is now beginning to look up in this corps as some of the newest recruits are proving their capabilities with the rifle by heading the list at the shooting contests. The following are the scores of Thursday’s match:—

131 84 lid 333 The visitors were afterwards entertained at dinner at McAuliffe’s Bush Hotel, and attended the Volunteer social gathering held in the drill shed in the evening, leaving for home late at night.
