DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS.
The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday:— Wheat is very dull of sale- Only small lots ol extra choice quality are being bought by the millers just as they happen to run out of any particular kind. Medium qualities are only saleable as fowls' wheat. Nominally we quote prime milling tuscan, pearl, and red straw at from 4s to 3s Bd, in very small lots; medium, 3s 3d to 3s. Oats- —The market is again very quiet. Quotations are as follows, with limited inquiry : Prime milling, 2s 10^d; good short feed, 2s 8d to 2s 9£d; discolored, 2s 6d to 2s 7d. Barley—Unsaleable. Eyegrass Seed—Fair inquiry at from 4s 6d to 3s, according to sample and age of pasture. Cocksfoot, 3d to 3|d. Potatoes-—Prime Oamaru (scarce), £4 15s to £5; kidneys, no inquiry; southern derwents, £4 ss. Pjga—Well fed up to 1601 b, 4|d, or from 1601 b to 1801 b, with heads off, 4|d; small sizes and heavies, 3d to 3:}d. Hams, 8d to 9d; flitches and rolls, 6d to 7d. Chaff—Oaten sheaf, £3 15s to £4; straw chaff, £2. Turnips, 17s to 20«, Carrots, 35s to 40s. Straw —Oaten and wheaten, 40s. Hay—Oaten, clover, and ryegrass, 70s, Butter—Prime «alt (nominal 6d to 8d), no demand; fresh butter glutted, akd is coming down in price; 8d is the value. Eggs in fair supply, Honey, 4£d to 4H for extracted. Cheese—Market quiet. Akaroa, 4d to 4|d; factory, 5d to 6d. Sheepskins —On Monday, town butchers' green skins, crosabreds, sold at 6s to 3s 4d; merinos at 4s 3d to 2s lOd; lambskins at from 4s to 2s; dry country skias from 5s 7d to Is 4d. Hides—Yalues range from 3£d per lb to l|d, according to weight and condition. Market dull. Tallow—The demand is good, and all consignments reaching the market command a ready sale at late quotations.
