CKRISTCHUROH STOCK MARKETS.
At the Addington Tards on Wednesday the entries all round were fairly numerous. Eat Cattle—There was a rather large entry of cattle of this class. Prices, however, fully held their own, except in cases of inferior quality. Best heavy weight bullocks made from £6 to £8 15s, and inferior ones from £4 10s to £5 15s. Heifers sold at prices ranging up to £7, amd cows from £3 10s to £6 10s. Values were rather varied, ranging from 15s 6d to 17s Gd per 1001 b. Store Cattle—Best cows brought £2 15s to £4, young steers up to £2 12s 6d, and yearlings t® £2 10s. A good many lines were passed in. Dairy Cattle—Best springers made up to £6 12s 6d, and inferior cattle from £2 to £4 10s. Only best lots were in demand.
Eat Sheep—The entry was smaller than usual, but the quality was the best that has been seen in the yards for months. The sale opened well, and prices throughout for good quality were high. What few inferior sheep were entered met with a decided decline, but all first-class sheep held their own readily. Best mutton may be quoted at 2|d per lb, while inferior failed in some cases to realise lfd. Best crossbred wethers made from 15s to 18s 6d ; inferiors, from 7s 6d to 13s 9d ; crossbred ewes, from 10s 6d to 16s 6d, and merinos of both sexes, from 7s 9d to 12s 6d.
Pigs—Prices throughout the sale were all in favor of sellers. Baconers were very well represented, and sold at a considerable advance on late rates. Best baconers made from £2 5» to £3 6s, the latter price being got for a pen of magnificent pigs. Porkers fetched from £1 5s to £2.
