THE CHINESE QUESTION.
London, August 20. Lord Knutsford, in an interview with the Agents-General of the Colonies, stated Government saw no reason to interfere with the decision arrived at by the Chinese Conference at New South Wales. Adelaide, August 23. Tbe Premier has received a communication from the Agent-General to the effect that the Imperial Government is not in favor of the provisions in the Chinese Kestriction Bill imposing a polltax, nor are they in favor of the 500 ton limitation. The Home authorities consider tbo polltax should be abolished altogether and tbe limitation lowered.
