London, August 21, In an ar'icle on the limes' charges »g*inst Parnell, the Freeman's Journal expresses the opinion that the ac bti about to be brought in Scotland against ihe proprietors of the Times is quite valid. Tha paper goes on to say that the Commission should bo limit'd iu their inquiry to definite charges against Parnell, and it also adds thai the clearest evidence will be brought forward at the trial to expose the 'elUrs as ' forgeries, T'.»e officials who were charged with having illegally carried out the evictions at Kdrusb have been »cinitted. Mr Gladstone states that the, policy of coercion in Ireland appears to have n disastroua effect, and that the country is in a worse state tlrn ev r. The Freeman's Journal, in an article on the Parnel:-Times case, states that it is expecled'that Mr John Walter, the proprietor, Mr G, Buckley, ll>e editor, and Mr Spear, the publisher, will Mate in the witness box that they are ignorant of the author of the articles containing the alleged libel, and will refer to Mr MacDonald, the manager of the paper, who will probably decline to answer the question.
