FOOTBALL.
ENGLAND V. WELLINGTON. The return match betweeen the English footballers and a Wellington fifteen was played on Monday last, and resulted in another win for the visitors by four points to one. The play was very good, During the game two Wellington men were injured—Whatman got his; leg • broken, and Thomson had his shoulder , hurt and had to retire. The takings on Saturday at the football match were £298, and on Monday £105; total £403.' . Lillywhite takes 80 per cent of this sum. TEMUKA V. TIMARU. A football match will be played on Saturday next, 19th inst., at' Temuka between teams representing Temuka and Timaru Clubs. The following will represent TemukaFull-back: J. W. Yelvin; three-quarter-backs: Geo. Yelvin, Mendelson, and Roberts; half-backs: LeCren and Gray; forwards: Dyson, Carr, Gunnion, Clinch, Hope, Donald, Angland, Polaschek,and Simpson; emergencies: McCallum and Cross. All members are requested to roll up for practice every evening at 4 p.m.
