GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of this Committee was held on Wednesday evening last. Present Messrs W. S. Maslin (Chairman), R. H. Pearpoint, 0. E. Sherratt, G. Taylor, J. Cunningham, and N. Dunlop. MINUTES. • The minutem of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. chairman's statement. The Chairman stated that he had received no correspondence from the Board of Education, neither had the Inspector’s report on the examination been received. The Committee of the Presbyterian Church had asked for the use of the schoolroom for one evening to hold a meeting, consequent upon not being able to do so in the Good Templar Hall, and he had granted the request. The action of the Chairman was approved of. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £5 14s, for prizes, were passed for payment. The Chairman stated that £2 2s 4d stood to the credit of the Committee in the Bank pass book for incidentals. Accounts amounting to,£l 2s Bd, for incidentals, were passed for payment. NOTICE 0? MOTION, Mr Cunningham gave notice of motion—“ That a resolution passed at a meeting of the Cominittee on May 11,1887, be rescinded.”

PUPIL mCHIR.

A letter was road from Mr J. P. Kalaugher stating that his time would expire on Ist February next as fourth year pupil teacher, and requesting a testimonial. The Chairman was authorised to give the same. On the motion of : Mr Taylor, seconded by Mr Sherratt, it was resolved —“ That applications be inserted in the usual manner for a pupil teacher, and a special meeting of the Committee be convened for Wednesday, Jan. 25th, to consider the same.*' MISOBLLANBOUB. Messrs Pearpoint and Taylor were appointed visitors for r the ensuing month. The Head Master interviewed the Committee re boys going on to the roof of the school for birds nests and eggs.—The Chairman was appointed to see the parents of certain boys re the same. The Visiting Committee were requested to put some perforated zinc round the bell tower to prevent birds building therein. The meeting then terminated.
