STANLEY'S EXPEDITION.
A letter has been received in London from Mr Henry M. Stanley, dated Capetown, March 9th. He says: —I found Tippoo Tip, the uncrowned King of the region between Stanly Falls and Zaogaurisk Like, commanding thousands of fighting Arabs. He was equally rendy to fight or to be employed. I chose the latter, not on account of his helping me to reach Emln Bey, but aleio to assist to bring Emin Bey's store of ivory away, valued at £BO,OOO. In the presence of the British Cousui I contracted with .Tippoo Tip to supply me with 600 carriers, and also, after receiving consent from King Leopold of Belgium, .appointed Tippoo Governor of Stanley Fulls at a regular salary. He guarantees to defend the station against Arabs, and suppress the slave trade. Below, the Falls a European has been appointed resident, who is authorised to stop Tippoo'a Balary on any breach of his engagements. So far there has been no hitch in the expedition. Eferybody shows the utmost sympathy, and our difficulties have been smoothed away. I have sent a letter to Emin Bey. Tippoo has been ordered to concentrate his people at Stanley Falls, in readiness for marching.
