AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. timaru. Mr D. Maclean (for Messrs James A. Grade and Co.) reports for the period ending Saturday as follows; Horses—At the Timaru Horse Bazmr t)-day our entry was barely up to ike average in nurubes, but the quality of a few of the draughts was much superior to anything offered for months back, notably a grand pair of bay geldings, Mae property of Mr R. Thomas, for which, however, the owner’s value was not realised. We disposed of the greater portion of our entry at for beat draught's from £l9 10s to £24 10s, and for inferior to medium £9 10s to £ls. Hacks— Nothing approaching quality off-ring, light and inferior selling from £4- to £8 10s.

Cattle—At the Washdyke yard on the 15th inst. there was a decided lack of quality in all classes, and, as a natural consequence, very little business was done. We sold oowb in milk and to calve from £3 to £6 2s 6d, and dry from 40s to 47s 6d. During the week we solo privately 12 head fat bullocks. Sheep—At the above market the entry was much larger than for some time back, and a considerable amount of business was done. We sold 62 fat sheep at 9s, 97 do owes at 8s )od, 40 do do at 8s 3d, and 59 at 9s 6d. gkios—At our usual fortnightly sale on Thursday wa catalogued over 1500 skins. There was a la:go attendance of buyers, and prices realised were for bu:cherscrossbreds, 2s 10d, 3s, 3s 2d, 3s 4d and 3s 6d ; merinos, Is 4J, Is 61 , Is 10d, ami 2s. A line of factory crossbreds sold at 4s Id.
