The revised balance-sheet was submitted by the Parishioners' Church warden, from which it appeared that the total receipts for the year amounted to £339, and the expenditure to £307 15s lOd, leaving a balance in hand of £3l 48 2d. This amount did not include the money realised by the late baaaar, the net proceeds of which amount to about £BO, irrespective of the snm of £23 realised by art union of the American organ. The principal liabilities were the Incumbent's stipend and a sum due for interest. PAROCHIAL NOMINATORS. The following gentlemen were elected ! Parochial Nominators :—Messrs Lee, Inwood, Rayner.and Eckford. PIW RENTS. The rev. Chairm»n intimated that the principal business for the Vestry to consider that evening was the question of pew rents, which had been referred to the Vestry to deal with by the Parishioners' meeting. In speaking to the subject the rev. Chairman desired to exp-ess his firm opinion as a Minister of the Gospel that however expedient it might be for financial reasons to charge for sittings in the ehurcb, every facility must be given to those who were unable or unwilling to pay for seats, and although willing to fall in with the views of the Vestry in in this particular, he wished some arrangement might be cotm to which would suit both parlies. Correspondence which had b.en received on the subject was read, and an animated discussion ensued, the principal speakers being Messrs Talbot, Wills, Lee, and Eckford. The general opinion of the Vestrj appeared to bo in favor of free seats, but it was pointed out that although the Church's financial position was improved, still it was net out of debt, and u'timately it was resolved on the. motion of Mr Wills, seconded by Mr Pilbrow—- " That the seats on the east side of the Church be let from the front seat to the door, if applied for ; all the sittings on the west side to be free." The price was fixed at 10a per sitting. THB LOAH. Payment having been requested of the sum of £2OO which had been borrowed some two years previously for the purpose of consolidating the debts of the Church, a member of the congregation offered the requisite sum at 8 per cent interest per annum, the other conditions of the loan to remain as heretofore. This offer was accepted with thanks, and the Churchwardens were asked to make the necessary arrangements. Mr D. Inwood, who, by invitation, attended to confer with the Vestry re the culmination of the Building Society shares taken up at the time the parsonage was built, expressed his opinion that everythiug in connection with the matter was in order and there could not possibly be any amount accruing to the Church as stated at the parishioners' meeting. It was decided that Messrs Eckford and Wills' form a sub-Committee to enquire iuto the matter. On the motion of Mr Davey it was resolved to invite applications for the post of caretaker and verger, a schedule of duties to be prepared by the Churchwardens. After the transaction of some minor business the meeting adjourned.
