GERALDINE CHEESE IN THE LONDON MARKET.

The following ib the letter referred to in our 1 .st ishue us having been received by the Secretary to the Geialdine Dairy Factory Company from London. It is dated May Bth : "Your shipment of cheese per a.s. Aorangi arrived here in splendid condition, and is considered by experts to be the best cheese yet sent to London from iNejv Zealand, and equal to the best class of English Cheddar. It has all been sold at 68s per cwt.—a price which must be considered satisfactory, considering that cheese hns been eelliDg lower during the past few months than for several years. "On the other hand, we very much regret to inform you that your shipment of cheese per s.s. Rimutnka has arrived in a very seriously damaged condition, many of the cheeses being melted into a flat mass in the cases, and all more or less damaged, fo that it is not valued at more than 60s per cwt. All the cheese from New Zealand by the same vessel has arrived in a similar state and the cause assigned is that the chambers were not kept cool in the tropics. "We very deeply regret that this should have happened, as arrangements hud been made with the purchasers of the first shipment to take the whole of this lot at 2s per cwt better."
