CHRISTCHURCH STOCK MARKETS.
At the Addington Yards on Wednesday a fairly large entry of all kinds of stock yarded for the day’s market. The fat sheep comprised all descriptions of quality. Market throughout was dull, and even late low rates were not upheld. Crossbred wethers sold at from 10s 9d to 16s; ditto ewes, from 9s 3d to 10s 6d ; merino wethers, 6s 6d to 9s, being a shade under 2d per lb on an average. A slightly smaller entry of store sheep yarded. Demand very middling, many lines being passed unsold. Crossbred ewes sold at from 5s 6d to 10s 9d ; ditto wethers, from 8s to 10s 6d ; merino ewes, from 2s 3d to 6s. A s'mall entry of store cattle and dairy stock met with a fair demand. A few more stores than usual, being iu forward condition, found buyers. Springing cows sold up to £6 12s 6d per head. A large entry of pigs met with a good demand at late rates. Fat Cattle —An entry above the average. A good proportion sold privately before auction sale commenced. At auction, demand not very brisk, late rates about ruling.
