GERALDINE FLAT SC BOOL.
The following is the Inspector’s report on the above school, examined on Nov. 10th
“ Head Master, J. L. Conk ; assistants, Mrs Cook (sewing mistress), and W. J. Lewis (2nd year pupil teacher). The work has been honestly and into ligently performed. There is an excellent tone throughout the school. The children as a rule are brightly intelligent and moat orderly during the examination. The success of the teaching in geography ami history is the more remarkable since these subjects are too often rather weak. The arithmetic of Standards 1., 11., and 111., is also worthy of high commenda lion. The grammar is far above the average. On the other hand writing and spelling have been neglected, and ought to receive much greater attention. The reading is remarkably distinct, but in the lower Standards other good qualities are absent. The infants appear to be quite satisfactorily taught. The knowledge exhibited by the upper division is gratifying, the arithmetic being specially worthy ot mention. Two pupils presented above the Standards and examined as if of Standard VI. showed a good knowledge of nearly every subject.—(Signed) W. F.
