GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.

A special meeting of the above Board was held on Thursday evening last in the Literary Institute. Present — Messrs R. H. Pear point (Chairman), Maslin, Hoffey, Farrell, Dunlop, Mundell, and Taylor. minutes. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE The following correspondence was read and considered : From Mr Hamersley, with reference to the award made by Mr Ollivier. — The Chairman said he had instructed the Clerk to reply to Mr Hamersley to | do what was necessary. From Mr B. Gibson, asking the Board to kerb a chain and a half of the footpath in front ot his property, and offering to pay one-third of the cost, INTERVIEW. Mr G. Ward had an interview with the Board in reference to his contracts. After the matter had been fully gone into, it was resolved to give Mr Ward a week’s notice, in accordance with the resolution passed last meeting, to finish No. 1 contract within one week, or the work would be taken oat ot hie hands. miscellaneous. The Clerk, with the Works oom s miltee, was ordered to see to the culvert across the road near Mr Mundell’s } the grating at the junction of High Street and Talbot Street, and the road from the Cemetery corner to the bridge, and report at next meeting. It was resolved that no orders for money payable to contractors be accepted by the E^Rfd. After passing accounts to the amount of £64 7s for payment, the Board ad? journed.
