The Club is started for the special benefit of the young men residing in and near Geraldine, and it is mainly to them we look for assistance in order for it to continue. Certain liabilities have been contracted, which will have to be met, and this can only be done through the members paying their subscriptions promptly and inducing others to join the Club. The printed rules are before you, each member being entitled receive one. We trust you will peruse them carefully, and adhere strictly to them. Circulars have been forwarded through the post to the principal residents within the district, and it is our earnest hope that our appeal will be liberally responded to. Your Committee have to announce that Mr W. Moore has presented the Club with a set of boxing-gloves, which has been acknowledged by the Secretary. The Rev. J. Preston and Mr W. E. Barker have given donations of £2 2s each, and their names have been placed on the list of patrons. Your Committee hare made arrangements with the Secretary to act as caretaker, and he will live on the premises. We consider it will prove advantageous to the Club. The apparatus necessary for the commencement of the Club has been procured, and it is now ready for use. In conclusion, your Committee wish the Geraldine Young Men’s Club every success, and hope that when the term of their office expires they may be enabled to show a good credit balance in favor of the Club at the Bank.” MISCELLANEOUS.
