CRICKET.

The Temnka Young Men’s Cricket Club have arranged to play a match with the Timaru National C.C. on Saturday next. Meanwhile, members are requested to meet for practice every evening after five o’clock for practice. If they mean to make a show against their opponents good steady practice must be gone in for. The following are the names of the players trom which the team will be selected ;—The Rev. Mr Hamilton and Messrs J. Ogilvie, J. Russell, A. Russell, G. Velvin, W. Coltraan, A. Clinch, J. Clinch, T, Thomson, C. Fauvel, J. Blytb, R. Blyth, E. Whitehead, W. Dyson, J. Findlay, E. Carr, T. Radford, Mogridge and A. Nicholas.

A match has been arranged between the Ashburton and Geraldine Cricket Clubs, to take place on the ground of the latter, on 10th November. As the visitors are expected to bring such men as Wilding, Reeves, Secretan, and Caygill, we would advise the local players to at once go into steady practice. The newly-constituted Cricket Club at Fairlie Creek have accepted an invitation to play a match at Geraldine sometime during the month of January.

A match will be commenced et Geraldine on Saturday between the married and single members of the Geraldine Club, and if not finished will be continued on following Saturdays. As many members as possible are requested to turn up.
