PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH, TEMUKA.

Sunday last, was observed as the anniversary of the establishment of the Sabbath school connected with this church. The sermons were preached by j Mr Watson, of Pleasant Point, the after- j noon and evening services being extremely ! well attended. At the afternoon service the prizes weredintributud by the Rev. Mr Clark, who accompanied each gift with a few appropriate words. On Monday night a tea and public meeting was held, at which there were about 100 persons in attendance. The tea, which was excellent, was provided by the ladies of the congregation, aDd the tables were presided over by Mesdames Bryan, Burton, and Thoumme and Misses Brogden, Burton, and BryaD. The church vzas nicely decorated for the occasion with flowers and evergreens. After the good tilings were dispersed with a public rneetinsr was held, which was well attended, the Church being crowded to excess, and the uniform of the Salvation Army being very conspicuous. On the platform were the Kev Mr Clark, and Messrs Metson, Huffey, A, Sherratt and Captain Lewis, After the singing of a hymn and a prayer offered" By Mr Hiifley,' the Key. Mr Übuk rnoved thst Mr Metson, Supenn : tendent of the Bund ay School, take Ihe chair. The Chairman delivered a Jonc/ address on the importance of Sunday School teaching, and expressed thepleasure lie felt in the work. Mr John B. Epps tben read a report on the Sunday School,

from whicli it appeared that there were io Mjholars in the school and that the averse attendance was 36. During the evenino several hymns were sun?, and recitations were, giy.-n by Blasters Bryan and iletson and" Mis-es Woodley, Fawdray, Burton, Willi .mis and others. Addresses were delivered by Messrs Ausiin, Huffoy. Sherratt, Captain Lewis, and the Rev. Mr Clark. The meeting wound up with the usual votes of thanks.
