TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.

A meeting of the Temuki Town Board was held last night, at v. Inch all the members were present. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. A letter was read from Mr Boulter stating that boys climbing up the lampposts had broken the lamps.—The Clerk was instructed to lay an information against anyone found thus transgreasing. THE POLICE. On the motion of Mr Quinn, seconded by Mr Mason, ic was resolved —“That owing to the frequent occurrence of potty larceny and other minor offences against property generally perpetrated at night within the town of Temnka, this Board would respectfully request that Inspector Broham take steps to have a police constable on night duty.” OVERSEER’S REPORT. The Overseer’s report was read re the clearing of wells, and it wa« approved. He also reported respecting repairing the lamps. TENDERS. Tenders were opened as follows : Contract No. s—Fencings—Fencing in front of Fire Brigade station, etc. : G. Freddy, £l6 18s (accepted); H. Gaston, £lB 15s ; Clinch and Lloyd, £l9 3s 6d, Contract No. 6 Re-crowing and shingling Davie street : T. Cleary, £l4 10s lOd (accepted) ; W. Davis, £l7 13s 4d ; T. Small, £lB 4s lid ; E. Counihan, £l6 11s 8d ; M. Dunn, £l6 13s B£d ; F. Flannagan and Co., £l6 5s lOd. DRAIN PIPES. The Clerk was instructed to order the necessary pipes. accounts. Accounts to the amount of £6B Is lOd were passed for payment. The meeting then adjourned for a month.
