WOODBURY SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Committee was held on Monday evening last. Present —Messrs Dean (Chairman), Flatman, Webb, Cormack, Cooling, Wadlow and McKenzie. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. TENDERS, The following tenders for cleaning the school were opened -Mrs Harris, £l2 ; Mrs Evans, £ll (accepted), MISCELLANEOUS. Resolved—“ That in future all moneys for hire of schoolroom be prepaid.” Resolved —“ That Mr Postlethwaite be accorded a hearty vote of thanks in our local papers, the Geraldine Guardian and Tbmuka Leader, for his munificent gift of £5 from bis honorarium to the school funds,” Resolved apply to the South Canterbury Board of Education for the sum of £5 to secure the trees and prune them, as the late gales have done a deal of damage to them.”

Resolved—“ That a concert be given in aid of the children’s annual treat and prize fund, and the Master be asked if he can get a portion of the scholars to assist in the same. The concert to take place in the schoolroom in December next, previous to the breaking up of the school for the Christmas holidays.” Accounts amounting to £7 7s 6d were passed for payment. The meeting then adjourned till Monday, October 6th.
