DUNEDIN MARKETS.

Mr Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited), reports for the week ending August 13 as follows : Fat Cattle.—We sold on various accounts 10 cows and 18 bullocks from £6 to £9 2s 8d ; and quote beef at from 18s to 20s per 1001 b. Fat Sheep.—We sold on various accounts 347, at prices ranging from 13s 3d to 18s. We quote mutton at 3jd to 3£d per lb.

Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report for the week ending August 12 : Grain.—Oats: During the last fesr days a brisk demand has sprung up for shipment, all eorts having been I..r»>.'ly dealt in. Good lines of heavy feed have been sold at Is lid to 2s Id, and at our anction sale on Monday stout milliug and any lots suitable for seed were sold at 2s l£d to 2d 3d, inferior brought Is 6d to Is 10£'i. Our week's sales are 26,564 bushels. Potatoes—Sound Derwents are in Bmall supply, and saleable at 50s to 60s per ton, according to condition. Kidneys and other white potatoes are unsaleable, except for pig feeding, at 20s to 30s per ton. Our week's sales are—loo tons at country stations, at 42s 6d (f.0.r.) ; 50 tons delivered in town, 52s 6d to 60s ; 25 tons kidneys and white at 25s to 32s 6d per ton.

Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. report for the week ending August 13, 1844: , „ Grain—Wheat : The demand for muling qualities is improving, and prices are if anything highar. We quote prime milling at from 3s 5d to 3s 6d ; medium, 3s to 3s 3d ; and inferior, from Is 9d to 2s 9d. Oats : During the week a large business has been done in this cereal at prices fully Id per bushel in advance of recent values. We quite choicest milling at 2s 2sd per bushel; heavy short bright feed, 2s lsd to 2s 2d ; ordinary short feed, 2s o£d to 2s Id ; and inferior and Ion? oats, Islodto2s. Barley : Prime malting samples are inquired for, and these are saleable at up to 4s 3d. Ryegrass Seed —A demaad exists for good machine-dressed seed at from 3s 9d to 4s.
