AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. TIMARU.
Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week ending Saturday as follows :
Horses—A small entry of horses was received at their y ards for sale, only 25 head putting in an appearance. The demand was dull, and little enquiry for almost all classes. A very good draught four year old filly brought L 32 10s, which was the top price. Thvy sold about In If the number entered at from LlB to L 22 for fa'.r goods draughts, Ll 4 to Ll 7 for medium clssses, and L 8 to Ll2 for ordinary hacks. On Monday they he'd a sale at Seadown, when they disposed of a few medium draughts at from Ll 5 to LI7 10s, inferior horses at from L 3 to L 7 ;"n extra good mare bringing L3O.
Sheep —The demand for store sheep is dull at present, and few lots are charging hands. Ai the Wash'tyke yards las! Tuesday several of the lots entered could not find buyers. They sold a line of 225 eroesbreds ewes -at 10s. Fat sheep— They have placed privately several lots at prices equal to fully 2d per lb. Cattle—No alteration in prices or in the demand for store cattle since they last reported. They sold last Tuesday at the Washdyke yards 21 head cattle at from 32a 6d to L 3 ; a few cows from L 3 to L 4 17s b'd. Fat cnttle They have sold at prices equal to from 15s to 17* per lOOibs. Sheepskins, Hides, Tallow, etc. usual fortnightly sale was held last Wednesday, when they catalogued 500 skins, 40 hides and a few sacks taliow, and disposed of all the lots at from 2s 61, 3s 8d and 4s for best butchers' hfcins ; 2s to 2d 9d for mixed farm»T»' lots j pelts from 3s to 2s : hides f'om 3d to 4d per lb , tallow from 2d to 2|d per lb. Property—They to-day sold a freehold farm situate on the Levels Plains, atid close to the Levels railway sUtion, consisting of 102 acres, with substantial improvements, bnild ng« and fencing, to Messrs Connor and Nivin, at a satisfactory price.
