The Times to-day states that the Porte has addressed a note to the English Government proposing the withdrawal of British troops from Egypt, and replacing them by a Turkish force, or a mixed Turkish, English, Italian, and Spanish force. The Pall Mall Gazette to-day denies the truth of the statement recently current that a large force of Gallas would be despatched from Abyssinia to relieve the Egyptian garrison at Kassala,

The Gazette states that King Johanneu, of Abyssinia, has only undertaken to facilitate the retreat of the garrison from that town, and not to send a force to its relief.
