Mr Locke denied the statement. Mr Gannon said the next contest would he between the Liberal and Conservative parties. Mr Locke and Mr DeLautoar, M.H.R's, left in the Manapouri for Wellington. New ir'IYMOTJTH. A requisition is being numerously signed asking Sir Julius Vogel to stand for New PI) mouth. A meeting is to be held at Waitara on Monday for the purpose of initiating a requisition to Sir Julius Vogel to stand for Taranaki. Addresses have been issued by Messrs E. M. Smith, Wlately King, and Chides Brown, as candidates for New Plymouth. Chkistchurch. Mr J. A. Williams, of iialswell. announces his intention to contest the Avon seat with Mr Leonard Harper. Over 500 names have been added to the city and suburban electoral rolls during the past fortnight. The statement that Sir Julius Vogel will stand for Chrisichuroh iN'or-h neon confirmed. Mr J.ilm Holmes again stands for Clnistchur<h South. Mr F. J. G >rrick has definitely determined on contesting St. Albans. Mr J. Lowthian Wilson, it is understood, has expressed his willinguess to stand for Kaiapoi. Dunedinv Mr Fish is announcd for Dunedin South, Mr Bathgate for Roslyn, and Mr Stout forDuntdiu East.
