TEMUKA DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.

y' A meeting of the Temuka High School 'Committee was bald last Monday evening. Present—Messrs Gray (Chairman), Blyth, Bolton, Miles and O'Halloran. MINUTES. The minutes cf the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. From the Board of Education, stating that the Committee's chim for a refund of £2O for planting could not be entertained. From the same, acknowledging receipt of £7 12s 6d for secondary education. From the H«sd Master, stating that the attendance for the month was as follows : —Number on roll : bnys, 201 ; girls, 148"; total, 349; strict average attendance : boys, 146 ; girls, 108, total, 254 ; hichest attendance on June 2nd : boys, 353; girls, 117; total, 270. He also enclosed a cheque for £1 lis 4d, collected from pupil teachers for school requisites, and applied for a further eupply of copybooks, blotiiDg paper, etc. TENDERS. The tender of Mr Blyth for supplying coal was accepted. MISCELLANEOUS. The Secretary was instructed to order the necessaries applied for by the He ;d Master, from the Board of Education ; also to obtain two coal scuttles and two pokers, the cost not to exceed £l. It ■>•? to close the school from the lid. to the 25th of June. M<' srs Gray and Blyth were appointed a Committee to carry out some improvements around the school, and also visitors for the ensuing month. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Education Board for the £8 granted for makiDg a footpath ; also for the £lO for tree planting. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to of £ll lis were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
