DESTRUCTIVE CYCLONES.
The United States have lately been visited with tremendous hurricanes, vibicb has caused immense damage. Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Virginia, Louisiana and South Carolina were visited on April 7th, and whole villages were blown out of existence. In Manghoela Valley a wire mill waa rent in twain, and six men perished in the falling ruins, Among other incidents a large frame dwelling house, at a place called Homestead, was lifted from its foundation and carried half a mile without injuiy. At Huntsville, Alabama, a Mis White and her mother were killed, and the baby of tha former was blown several miles into the woodi, where it was found alive nt-rt d.iy. Passing through India!;* the tw:k of the atorm extended twenty miles in width, and <>.vemhin« in its course was wrecked to sinkers."' In Lynchburg, Virginia, houses Wei* blown in every direction, and tobacco waivhousts fkthmed to the earth.
