DEATH OF THE DUKE OF ALBANY.
London, April 3. Telegrams to hand from Cherbourg announce that the body of the late Dnke of Albany was embarked at that port to-day for England, The Prince of Wales proceeds with the steamer. Later. The body of the late Duke of Albany reached Portsmouth to-day. Melbourne, April 6. To-day has been observed as a day of general mourning throughout the colony for the late Duke of Albany. A majority of the citizens of Melbourne wore dressed in black, and flags were flying on all public buildings at halfmast. Sydney, April 5. The ships in port to-day fired minute guns in commemoration of the late Prince Leopold. With half-hour intervals, the firing lasted throughout the day. Auckland, April 6. The flags were flying at half-mast yesterday re the burial of Prince Leopold. The Japanese warship Tsukuba had no flags at half-mast.
