London, April 3. In the House of Commons to-day the Marquis of Hartin°ton, in leply to a question, stated it was not intended to send British troops to Berber or Khartoum, but if General Gordon proved to be in jeopardy the Gowntnent would order measures to be taken for his assistance. The Minister added (hat in his latest despatches General Gordon announces that he adhered to his views in favor of the evacuation of Souakim. Cairo, April 3. The latest despatches from Souakim announce that Major-General Graham has left that place for this city. A detachment of Sir Evelyn Wood’s force now stationed in Egypt has been
ordered to proceed to Souakim. to form a garrison to be kept at that port.
