A report is curre it hove to-day that the trial of Arabi and other rebels will be entirely dropped, and that the preparations which have been in progress for some time past are at a standstill. The Egyptian Government has received a communication from the British Ambassador stating that the English Government decline to recognise Baker Pasha as Comrnander-in-Chief of the Egyptian army.
