LOCAL BOARD OF HEALTH.

At the close of the Road Board meetiag on Tuesday last, the members sat as a local-. Board of, Health. MINUTES. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed KEPORT. The following report of the Inspectorof Nuisauces was read : " Temubi, Dec 6th, 188 L "Sik, —I have the honor to report that during the past mouth I have made three house to house inspections at Winchester, and found the- sanitary condition of the town is improving. A complaint was made -t^m cow had been buried in % the centre of llie township, but, from personal inspection I found that a sufficient quantity of lime had been buried with the ccw to prevent a nuisance being caused. During one of my visits I found the carcase of a sheep and, considering it necessary, I engaged a man to bury it for 2s 6d. Some of the residents* in the said cottages at he above township are not in a position to purchase the proper closet pans, and on that ground have desired me to. ask that pans may be granted them by the Board. Mr Blissatt. the nightman, complains that some of tha residents refuse to pay him for his work, aud I have informed him that he had better sue them. —I am, etc, Geo. Bolton, Inspector of Nuisances. To Chairman Temuka Board of Health. It was resolved—" That the Board cannot accede to giving closet pans. Any parson causing a nuisance through not having a pan to be sued." The meeting then terminated.
