CAED MILLE FAILTHE.

On Monday last Mr and Mrs J. T. M. Hayhurst returned to Milford from their wedding tour, and advantage was taken of the occasion by Mr Hayhurst, sen., to invite the tenants on bis estate, and a numerous circle of friends to welcome them at Model Farm, Milford. the more especially as his sou had attained his majority. About 150 sat down to a sumptuous luncheon, which was presided over by Mr Hayhurst, sen., his son being seated on his right and the bride on his left b»nd. After ample justice had been done to the good, things.provided, Mr Cox, in a very elaborate speech, proposed the health of the bride aud bridegroom, which was drank amidst hearty cheers. Mr Hayhurst, jun., responded in suitable terms. Mr Hayhurst, sen., proposed the health of Mr and Mrs Cox, to which Mrs Cox replied at some leDgth and was greatly applauded. The hayloft having been cleared for a dance, the Temuka Brass Band played with considerable spirit. Dancing was kept up till half-past six. p.m., when an was.made for tea. <&re\oz to. Ih'e company sitting down Mr £ \ Jbrow praised; the health of Mr and Mrs J. Brown, whioh was drank with musical honors and three hearty cheers. Mr Brown replied to the toast in a very happy manner,- wishing the newly-married couple every success in their future career. Dr, Campbell remarked that they had forgotten one toast, and that was, the,. Band and B*Ddma*ter.

All the arrangements were very complete for the comfort of the guests, nothing on the part of Mr ami Mrs HayL hurst, senr., being wanting to render the a brilbmt success.
