LOCAL BOARD OF HEALTH.

[ At the termination of the meeting of tRe Temuka Road Board, on Tuesday last, the members again met as the Local Board of Health. The Inspector's report was read as follows : "J. Talbot, Esq., " Chairman Local Biard of Health. " Sie, —1 have <the honor to report that in accordance with instructions from the Board I saw Mr J. W. White re the compulsory use of closet-pans, and was referred by hitn to Mr Jameson, who promised to forward a propnr form of notice to be served on anyone who may refuse to comply with the resolution of the Board. I have not as yet received that form of notice, therefoie no action has been taken during the past month. During the past month Messrs Lee. Clinch, and Burrows hare complained that their closets were not emptied by the scavenger. —I have the honor, &c, ' George Bolton, " Inspector of Nuisances." A letter from Mr Edward Lee was received, complaining that his closet had not, been, properly attended to by the scavenger. Resolved —" That the night-man be informed that the Board is being continually complained to of his neglect, and that he will be discharged if there are any more of them." The meeting then terminated.
