A SUGGESTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I was pleased to notice in Saturday's Leader that steps are about to be taken to have the district properly canvassed for subscriptions for the town clock. My cbj cfc in writing again is not so much for the purpose of advocating the advantages of a clock, as I take it that is now admitted pretty well by all, but to make a suggestion. The Road Board hold their next meeting on Tues day, andjjfwould suggest to those gentlemen who have taken the matter of the clock in hand to interview the members of the Board for the purpose of ascertaining their willingness to grant a sum for the clock. I have "no doubt if the matter was properly represented the Board would readily contribute a small sum. By doing this the Board would only be consulting the interests of the ratepayers.—l am, , etc., j CORRECT TIME. Temuka, Feb. 28, 1880. j =
