WINCHESTER CRICKET GROUND BOARD.
A meeting of the above Board was held in the Institute on Monday evening. Present—Messrs Young (Chairman) Murray, James Paterson, Deßenzy, and R. Barker. The minutes of the former meeting were read and confirmed. The Chairman stated that he had written to Mr Elliot, Secretary for Crown Lands, for a copy of the Public Domains Act, but had not yet received any reply. Mr Young agreed to act as Secretary to the Board, Mr Barker proposed—“ That tenders be invited for the use of the cricket ground froth month to month for sheep grazing only, and on the following conditions That the rent be paid in advance ; that the ground be open to cricketers authorised by the Board; and that the fences be kept in repair.” This proposition was, seconded by M
Murray and' carried. Mr Deßenzy and Mr Paterson volunteered to see what repairs were necessary to' be done to the fences. The meeting then adjourned. /
