WINCHESTER DOMAIN BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the above Board was held in the Institute on Monday evening. There were present Messrs Young (Chairman), De Renzy, Jas. Paterson, and Cliff. The minutes of the former meeting having been disposed of, the Chairman said that two rows of trees had been planted round the Domain, and that in addition to those obtained from Christchurch ho had procured 4500 plants from Wheelband. Proposed by Mr De Renzy, and seconded by Mr Paterson—‘That votes of thanks be accorded to Mr Armstrong for giving the trees, to Mr Evans foi forwarding the same, and to the Boardj and to Mr Wheelband for his gift of fifty pines.” Carried. Mr Cliff proposed,— “ That the thanks of the Board be also accorded to ( Mr James Paterson for his donation of £5, being money received by him for ploughing the cricket ground/ This was seconded by Mr De Renzie, and carried unanimously. It was proposed by Mr Paterson, seconded by Mr, De Denzy—“That the Chairman be requested to make application to the Government for a share of plants that are being imported for distribution among public bodies.” Carried. \ Accounts amounting to £5 2s 6d were read. The Chairman was authorised to pay Mr Wheelband £2 18s on account. This concluded the business of the meeting- ' . . '
