MILFORD SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The usual monthly meeting was held on Monday, the Ist November. Present Messrs Cox (Chairman), Woodhead, May, and Brogden. The minutes of the last monthly meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. 1. From the Board enclosing summary of attendance returns for quarter ending September 30. 2. From the Board in reference to the appointment of a pupil teacher, in reply to communication on the subject from the Chairman of the Committee. The Board requesting the Committee to forward the names of suitable persons for the appointment, and promising to adopt the recommendation of the Committee. 3- From the head teacher suggesting that Miss Burton be recommended for appointment to the office, he being of opinion that she was well qualified for the position. 4. From the Secretary to the Board slating that the requisition for maps, &c, will be referred to the Board at its next meeting, 3rd inst. Also stating that the suggestion of additional urinal accommodation will be considered at the same time. 5. Enclosing L 3 6s 8d to meet “ Incidentals ” for quarter ending December 31, 1880. Also teacher’s salary for the month ending October 31, Lll 2s 4d. Accounts ordered to be- 1 paid—G. Brown, L 3 Is 6d. Resolved —“ That the sth of Novem-
ber, the .Prince of Wales’ birthday, be observed as a school holiday..” Resolved—“ That the proposed children’s entertainment iq aid of the School Prize Fund take place on Friday, the ■ 19th instant.
