Sir Daniel Cooper presided at an adjourned meeting of the Representatives of the various British Colonies in reference to the Unity of the Empire. A long discussion took place, but the subject was virtually postponed. A Committee was however formed to consider the best means of improving the md finite relations which exist in many points between England and her colonies. Turkey is mobilising an army corps at Adnanople and fortifying the Hellespont She is also sending troops to Salonica.
Greece is mobilising her reserves
Leave of absence has been suspended to the Austrian army occupying Bosnia At a meeting of members of the Colonial Institute, held to-day, the Committee appointed advised the federation of the Empire.

The match, Australians v, the Leicestershire team, at Leicester, was continued to-day. The Home team were aU out for 95 runs in their first innings, being 47 runs behinl their opponents. The Australians then went in for their second innings, and when the- stumps were drawn for the day had lost no wickets for 66 runs.

The match between the Australians and the Leicestershire County team, atLeiees ter, was cotinued to-day. The Australianin their second innings, when the stumps were drawn, had lost 7 wickets for 200 runs. The match was drawn, the Austra lians having 3 wickets to fall. Murdoch was bowled after making 73 runs. It is expected there will be a deficiency in the Russian harvest amountiug to 9,750,000 quarters. Intelligence has been received from Afghanistan .that Ayoub Khan, Govenoi of Herat, who left (hat city recently with a strong foice for the puprose of attacking Candahar, has arrived at Earrah.and resumed his march towards Omdahar.

The Porte continues to take steps to offer an armed resistance to an attempt that may be made to enforce the decission of the Berlin Conference, and for that purpose the Turkish troops are being massed at Adrianople, Salomon, Yolo, Pivsva, and Thessaly, Gallipoli, on the Dardanelles, moreover , is st.ongly fortified.
