Mr Johnston, on behalf of Mr Thomas ( layton, applied for a temporary transfer from Mr H Holloway of the Star hotel, South Eangitata. The Bisnch called Mr Johnstons: attention, to .the; fact that no petitions signed by the inhabitants of the district was put; in with the application. The Bench decided, however, that if this was done- by the next Court day the application would be granted. CIVIL CASES Mr Austin applied for a re-hearing of the case Mason v Holloway, which was nonsuited iast Court da>. ■ ■ . His Worship granted a re hearing, but subsequently, upon Mr Hamersley appearing and objecting, the case was adjourned to next Court day, when the arguments will be heard. Mason, Struthers and Co v Marcroft. Claim LI 2 Mr Hamcrsley for defendant. In this cage an application was made for defendant's evidence to be taken here, which was done. Sheen v Currie Claim L 8 10s. Tim was a claim tor money paid for a section of land to defendant, for which he failed to give a title. Judgment given for amount claimed and costs. White v Brown (trustee in M. Dunn's estate). Claim LSB This case was adjourned las* Court day for counsel to produce authorities. Judgment reserved till next Court day. Gregory v Morris. Claim L 23 ss. Mr Austin (for plaintiff) handed in an agreement between the parties, but his Worship refused to take it as evidence aB it was unstamped. The fine, viz., L 5, was immediately paid, and the doc ment admitted. Case adjourned for the production of an important witness. The Court then adjourned.
