LAND SALE.
The advantages of having the land sales at the nearest place to where the land is instead of at Christchurch was clearly demonstrated yesterday, and the suprisingly high prices realized must convince the Land Commissioners that more money c m he got from the land by bringing it within the reach of the class of customers who are usually the buyers of these small lots. The advantages connected with working men being able to acquire at once land on easy terms of payment wis also fully taken advantage of, the attendance o£ working men being very large and the biddings for anything like fair land spirited, in fact all through there seemed no slack in the demand for land nor any appearance of want, of money ; the prices realised were most satisfactory as can be seen from the report of the sale in another column.
