GERALDINE ELECTORATE.

We understand a requisition is being signed asking the Rev. George Barclay to allow himself to be nominated as a candidate for the Geraldine electoral district. Mr. Rolleaton is also spoken of. The general—we may say the almost universal —opinion is that, if Mr. Barclay takes the field (which we are informed he is prepared to do) the present member would stand no chance for re-election. Mr. Barclay, although he has not openly taken any part in politics, is no novice in that line. There are many who predict a brilliant future for this gentleman, if he takes an active part in the politics of the country. One thing, ho is a local man, and his interests are bound up with the district. This will go a long way to secure his return.
