SALE OF CROWN LANDS

Tlio salt l of Crown lands advertised for some time took phve at the Crown Hotel, Tcmnka yesterday at 1 p.m. The attendance was large, from great distances, over 250 being present.

The Auctioneer, Charles Clark, from Christchurch, acted as Auctioneer. After reading the conditions the Auctioneer, and stating that each bidder must make an advance of five per cent upon the former, lie commenced with lot G of the deferred payment block. Before proceeding he beggejL. to congratulate them on the advantage of having so many blocks of fine land brought before them on such favourable terms and at their very doors, remarking that formerly' all sales took place at Christchurch and only to be bad on application at the Land Office. Lot No. G was then put up at the upset price of £194 19s. Being a shinglylot no bids were obtained ; afterwards it was sold for £194 19s.
