Awapuni Track Work

Conditions were perfcct at Awapuni for semi-flnal gallops on horses engaged at Marton to-morrow. The course proper, with the flags about 30 fcet out, was available for fast work. One of the flrst to go was Hippodrome (R. B. Ireiand), but he was asked to gailop only the iast three furlongs, which took 39 3-5s. Irish Fox (H. P. Stewart) sprinted four furlongs in 54s and he was running smoothly over the final stages. Beneve (H. Pearce) and Social Climber (A. Midwood) were together at the end of flve furlongs run in 1.8. Te Pourohe (T. Paul) slipped smoothly over four furlongs lu 53s, and Alchemy and Taane Pango wero restrictcd to thrce-quprter pace work on the plough. They seem to be In good order. . , Donegal Bay (C. A. Bowry) and Aspen (A. G. Waddcll) were together at the end of flve furlongs in 1.7 l-5s, and they were travelling casily. Tideover (Pearce) ran home ahead of Hinepo (Stewart) after six furlongs in 1.23, Hinepo being eased up in the straight. Native Chief, looklng a picture, was restricted to strong pace work. Queen a Charm (J. Sellars) and Goldform (Stew art) ran flve furlongs in 1.7 l-5s. Stairway (Ewan) tailed Kaitoa (Bowry) and Solver (Waddell) to thc straight and then moved up to be with them at the finish of seven furlongs run in 1.35 2-5s. Henry of Huntingdon (Miss Freda White) and Circular Note (Midwood) schooled well over six flights of hurdles, and there was plenty of pace on. After jumpiug the last hurdle Henry of Huntingdon was eased up and Circular Note ran home on his own Riding engagements announced for the Wanganui meeting incltide: W. J- Broughton, Alchemy and Taane Pango; A. Midwood. The Pied Piper, War Credit, Circular Note, Native Chief and Enlarge; R. B. Ireiand, Irish Fox, Crackerjack, Vivid Night. Midian Star and Amigo; H. P. Stewart, Hinepo and Goldform; D. \V. Redstone, Gay F"ox, Foxcover nnd Phalaria; V. Sellars, Goldcn Days, Ring Chief and Hamish.
