Kaimata Presentation
Sergeant J. Pemberth and Privates N. InStone and P. Clark were guests of honour at ,a social evening at Kaimata. Mr. H. Burwell, on behalf of residents, presented fountain pens to the guests of honour. Mr. H. Burwell was master of ceremonies. A gift" evening was given at Kaimata to Miss Dora Wood. on the eve of her marriage to Sergeant J. Pemberth. Card prizewinners were: Mrs. F. Moretti 1. Mrs. H. Salisbury 2; Mr. A. Bracegirdle 1, Mr. F. Morehu 2. Mrs. T. Burgess played dance music. Mr. L. Blackbourn presented the guest of honour with gifts. On behalf of the Women's Institute, Mrs. H. Burwell presented Miss Wood with a rpirror. At a next-of-kin afternoon held by the Kaimata Red Cross Society, Mrs. Sergeant presided. Community singing 'was led by Mrs. Sergeant, an Irish jig was given by Miss Thelma Bracegirdle, pianoforte solos by Miss N. Dobson and Mrs. R. Sergeant, sword dance by Joyce Sheppard, Irish jig by Lucy Loveridge, ani a Highland dance by Beth Sheppard. Afternoon tea was served by the women's committee. A competition was won by Mrs. L. Bocock and Mrs. L. Dobson. Miss Dash is spending the school holidays at Marton and Levin. Mrs. D. S. Blackbourn is visiting New Plymouth. Mrs. Just, Palmerston North, who was the guest of Mrs. L. Bocock for the PemberthWood wedding, has returned home. Miss ■ J. Allen, who was the guest of Miss M. Thorby, has returned to Wellington. Mrs. L. Blackbourn is staying with her mother, Mrs. Ally, New Plymouth. Mrs. L. Dobson is visiting New Plymouth. Mrs. Loveridge recently visited Hawera. Mrs. H. Burwell recently visited Stratford.
