Unusual Accident Occurs In Palmerston North Lift
Palmerston N-, Aug. 31. A young man, Mr. Garnet Porter, aged about 20 years, of Wellington, is in the Palmerston North hospital seriously injured as a result of an unusual accident in a goods lift. When the lift reached the ground floor a heavy pulley on the overhead gear broke awav and crashed through the roof of the lift. Mr. Porter was hit on the head by a piece of angle iron which the pulley dislodged and suffered a 'fractured skull.
