Pilot Escapes From Aircraft by Parachute

Wellington, Last Night.
An airman pilot under training at • South Island Royal New Zealand Air Force station escaped by parachute when his aircraft got into difficulties near the aerodrome at about noon to-day. He was engaged in solo flying practice and jumped from a height of about 3000 feet, escaping with a sprained ankle.
