Electrical Work and Ship Control Amendments
Press Assn.
Wellington, Last Night.
With a view to ensuring that electrical work should not be unavoidably held up despite the fact that such gupplies as steel conduit are not readily available, amendments have been made to the Electrical Wiring Regulations. They are published in to-night's Gazette. The amendments clarify the existing regulations as well as making a number of new provisions, including one enabling the use of wooden capping and covering in service mains where metal conduit is in short supply. "An amendment to the Shipping Control Emergency Regulations published in to-night's Gazette provides that the original regulations and their amendments will now apply to foreign ships in New Zealand territorial waters, British ships within New Zealand territorial waters and to New Zealand registered ships wherever they are.
