Putt—Peacock
In the Presbyterian Church, Hawera, Elaine Mary, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Peacock, was married to Howard James, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Putt, Otakeho. The Rev. A. G. Irvine o§iciated. The , bride, escorted by her father, wore a model parchment lace gown over slipper satin. The bodice featured a high neckline, with Peter Pan collar. The full skirt fell to form a long square train, appliqued with satin flowers. Her veil of parchment net, lent by a cousin, was trimmed with satin flowers. The veil was held by a halo of orange blossm and tulle, and formed a second train. She wore a triple string of pearls, and carried an arm spray of camellias, winter roses, chrysanthumums and maidenhair fern. Miss Alice Bennett and Miss Margaret Putt were frocked alike in cyclamen mousellene, with shirred bodices and boleros, and full skirts. They wore silver and cyclamen halos, and carried shower bouquets to tone. Mr. Jim Peacock was best man, and Mr. W. Carran was groomsman. Mr. L. Rowe was organist, and Miss Molly Lloyd sang a solo. When the bride left the church she was presented with a lucky horse shoe by Pam Parker. At a reception in the Carlton, Mrs. Peacock, mother of the bride, wore a navy tailored costume, with navy accessories. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Putt, wore a navy pinstriped tailored costume, navy hat and fur stole. For travelling the bride wore a navy frock, with petrol blue box coat, fur stole, and navy hat and accessories.
