Grand total, £9198 5s 2d. Farewell at Ararata. Mr. and Mrs. W. Doole, who have l^ft the Ararata district to live at Hawera, were guests of honour at a social evening in the Ararata hall. Mr. and Mrs. Doole have lived on Moera Road for many years, and are among the most respected residents of the district. Mr. T. Winks made a presentption of a china cabinet on behalf of Ararata people. Other speakers were Mrs. G. H. Tocker and Messrs. A. G. Larcom and R. Corkill. Mrs. E. Tarrant, an old Ararata resident, presented Mrs. Doole with a floral shoulder spray. Euchre and cribbage were played, and dancing to music by Mrs. Corkill. Mrs. Thaia and Miss Thelma Larcom, was held. Vocal items were given by Miss I. Larcom. Mr. A. Alexander was master of ceremonies.
