Chamber of Commerce

Members of the Patea Chamber of Commerce attended a dinner at the Central Hotel, Patea, before attending the annual meeting in the lounge on Monday night. The Hawera chamber was represented by the president. Mr. L. A. Ablett, and the Stratford chamber by the secretary, Mr. F. E. Clarke, who addressed the meeting on the activities of their organisations. Officers elected were: President, Mr. F. Ramsbottom; vice-president, Mr. C. R. Honeyfield; secretary, Mr. J. C. Cunnison; auditor, Mr. G. J. Broker; committees, finance, Messrs. F. H. Billings, G. Francis and S. Hills; trade and industry, Messrs. D. Roots, J. Bates and A. H. Boswell; local bodies, Messrs; Ramsbottom, Honeyfield and G. Fraser; transport, Messrs. G- W. Corbett, W. Wimsett and Captain W. E. Barnes; delegates to Dominion conference, Messrs. Ramsbottom and Cunnison.
