Hawera Trotting Club Has Successful Year

The year's operations of the Hawera Trotting Club resulted in a net profit of £893 9s 4d, stated the report presented to the annual meeting last night. The accumulated funds stood at £7452 4s lld, which was the highest, since the inception of the club, and most of which was represented in first-class liquid investments. Racing at the Easter meeting was high class and a tribute to the good stakes given and the splendid programme provided for all classes of horses. During the year £250 was contributed to war loan and £250 to patriotic funds, allocated in proportion to the quotas _of the committees controlling South Taranaki, while £500 was invested in liberty loan and £87 10s in a national savings bond.
