New Rail Service For Napier and Gisborne

Wellington, Aug. 24.
A new railway service between Napier and Gisborne, commencing on September 7, was annOunced to-day by the Minister of Railways, the Hon. R. Semple. A train will leave Gisborne at 10.5 a.m. each day for Napier, connecting with the 4.25 p.m. train to Palmerston North and a train will leave Napier at 5.25 after the arrival of the Wellington express, reaching Gisborne at 11 p.m. The new service would effect a large saving in petrol and tyres, said the Minister.
